Logging into a company owned computer (Windows)


Notes
This guide is intended for use with a PC that has already been configured for your company. If it is a brand-new (fresh from the box) computer, please follow the steps here: Setup your brand new Windows device

Login process

  1. Turn on the device and on the logon screen, choose "Other user"
  2. Enter your company M365 username (your email address) and password
  3. You will be asked to authenticate using a one-time pin through your mobile number or the authenticator app
  4. A 6-digit pin is required to configure your account

Setup process

  1. OneDrive setup
    1. Open OneDrive by typing it from the search box, login using your work account. It will ask you to authenticate through your mobile number or the authenticator app.
    2. Follow the rest of the setup instruction on the screen
    3. When asked if you'd like to backup, make sure Desktop, Documents and Pictures are checked and choose "Start Backup"
  2. Outlook setup
    1. Open Outlook by typing it from the search box, login using your work account. It will ask you to authenticate through your mobile number or the authenticator app.
    2. Follow the rest of the setup instruction on the screen
    3. You can right-click the icon and pin to taskbar for easier access during your next use.
  3. SharePoint setup - No need to follow the steps below if you are not given SharePoint access.
